Jesus invites us to live for a higher purpose, to be God's agents of healing and restoration in the world. But where we spend our money reflects what we care about most. Some of us could benefit from seeing what kind of relationship we have with our clothes. Are we living in ways that reflect God's call or are we simply following the script of modern society? This project will push and stretch us to live outside the status quo. It will give us a sobering look at what really matters to us."
21 FOR 21 CHALLENGE
WHEN: MARCH 5 - MARCH 26 (First half of lent)
During the season of Lent 2019, CSULB IV will be participating and leading the campus in a "21 Day Challenge". The purpose of the project is to create a new sense of awareness surrounding our dependence on material things and the influence they hold on our identity as college students. It is also an opportunity to stand in solidarity with those around the world who live on much less than we do in America. We invite anyone to participate with us as we learn what it means to live simply and what it looks like to follow Jesus on our campus and in the world. Throughout the 21 days there will be opportunities to debrief the experience and learn from each other and scripture. |
